Terms of Use

By using this speed test you agree to the terms below. They are short and deliberately plain.

The service

WiFi Speed Test is a free tool that measures the download speed, upload speed, ping and jitter available to your browser at the moment you run it. It is provided as-is, without any warranty, and may be changed or withdrawn at any time.

Accuracy

Results are a genuine measurement of real network transfers, but they are a snapshot rather than a certified benchmark. Distance to the test server, Wi-Fi conditions, the capabilities of your device, other traffic on your network and browser overhead all affect the outcome. Do not rely on a single result as evidence in a dispute with an internet provider; run several tests, including one over a wired Ethernet connection, and keep a record of the times and conditions.

Acceptable use

The test endpoints exist to serve people measuring their own connections. You may not use automated scripts to run tests in bulk, use the endpoints as a general-purpose bandwidth source or file host, attempt to overload or disrupt the service, or resell access to it. Requests are rate-limited and abusive traffic may be blocked without notice.

Data usage

A test transfers real data and will consume part of any metered or mobile data allowance. You are responsible for any charges that result from running it.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the operator of this site is not liable for any loss arising from use of the service or reliance on its results.
